Review by hotel critic
My family and I had the pleasure of staying at the Kirkhouse Inn during our recent Scottish adventure, and it proved to be a suitable base for our explorations. The welcoming atmosphere fostered by the young, friendly staff made check-in a breeze. Particularly memorable was our spacious room, which included a separate sitting area—great for my family to unwind after our daily outings exploring the city. As a vegetarian, I appreciated the varied menu in the restaurant, and the breakfast, featuring the full Scottish, offered a hearty start to each day. A highlight for us was the hotel's focus on family-friendly amenities, with plenty of activities to engage both adults and children alike. We enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and proximity to local attractions, making it easy to dive into the city's rich culture. While there were some dated aspects, like the TV reception issue, it didn’t overshadow our delightful week-long experience. I recommend the Kirkhouse Inn for families seeking a comfortable and accommodating stay as they explore Scotland.
